Off to the French Riviera and Antibes

The day started with a beautiful sunrise on the Luberon.

Unfortunately we had to leave St. Saturnin-les-Apt and head SE to the French Riviera.  Since we had six hours to "burn" between check-out and check-in we decided to drive to the Grand Canyon du Verdon (the Grand Canyon of France).  While impressive it has nothing on the US version.

Once again lots of crazy French drivers, most of whom drive motorcycles - we are pretty sure most of them have a death-wish based on how fast they go and where they pass.  Hilda took us on some very interesting back roads.  We stopped in a small town called Castellane (which is a gateway community to the Gorges du Verdon).  At the top off a 180-metre cliff is a church (sure shows who the dedicated church-goers are).

As we got closer to Antibes the traffic picked up a lot (Saturday at the coast) but Hilda did a good job of getting us right to the apartment/condo.  We are right across the street from a nice beach in Antibes.  Got settled in and walked to the main part of town - lots of people, cars and motorcycles, along with a lot of restaurants.

So we are caught up for now.  Not sure what tomorrow will bring but I am sure it will be fun and relaxing.
