Avignon

We started the day with a terrific breakfast prepared by our hosts Patrice and Anne.  The food was great but no sure exactly what we were eating.

Spent the day visiting the Palais des Papes, Rocher des Doms (a garden area) and Pont St-Benezet.  Lots of walking (at least 8,000 steps) and the weather was quite warm.  Avignon is a "big" city so lots of people, traffic and noise.  Many places to buy expensive items and to eat a wide variety of food.  And unfortunately there were beggars to be found which included people with small children and dogs.

Steve was able to find a restaurant which served moules (mussels) with the help of Patrice.  We learned when we got to the restaurant that Patrice had called to make sure I got the right dish and preparation.  It was very good.  Charlotte went really crazy on the meal and had a green salad - she is so adventurous.

Tomorrow we pick up the car and head to Vaison-la-Romaine for a week.  Until then.
