Today we decided to do a little sightseeing from the sea. We drove about 75 miles or so to the port town of Cassis. During this trip we experienced the 'autoroute' (toll roads) and got to drive 130 (kilometers, not miles, per hour). Pretty nice roads. Anyhow, this area has fabulous 'calanques', which are a limestone range that has fantastic shapes and forms you can see best from the boats. We had just missed the 1st boat so we had a little lunch and people watched until it was time for our boat to go. Off we went, and it was incredible. The pictures just don't do it justice.
On the way home we ignored Hilda (the gps) and took the autoroute all the way back to the gite. We did stop at a wine cave and got our fresh supplies for the coming week. After our chit chat time at the pool with the owners and their guests, we went to L'Estrade for a great dinner. In fact, everyone at the gite was at the restaurant. The sisters that own the restaurant very patient with everyone's french. It was a great ending to a lovely week at St Saturnin-les-Apt.
