Bonsoir,
While the weather has been less than ideal (can you say rain) we have not let it dampen our spirits. We walked through the old town up to the chateau at the top of the hill (using our first souvenir - umbrellas). Things were a little slippery but the views were fantastic. On the way down we stopped at a pizzeria (I know - it's France, not Italy) and had a wonderful pizza. Sat next to a couple from England who had driven over, are staying a few weeks to relax and rock climb and stock up on wine to take home.
Also walked around the new part of town to check things out. Things were slower today since it is Sunday but still quite a bit of activity. Got back to the B&B around 5PM and had a glass of wine overlooking the area - seems so idyllic and unreal that we are here.
Headed out to dinner about 6:30 but unable to find anything close that was open. Headed back to the newer part of town and found the couple from Ottawa at a restaurant. We had another fine french meal - spaghetti bolognaise. It was very good and a safe choice.
Got in about 14,000 steps today (around 6-7 miles of walking). With the weather forecast improving we hope to take a hike through the countryside tomorrow.
That is all for now. We hope that everyone back in the states is doing well. Au revoir until tomorrow.
