Today was the day to get some serious walking in. We had purchased a hiking book before we left and we found a trail outside of a village we wanted to visit called Gigondas. We checked with the TI (tourist info) and they said the hike would take 5 hours (the book said 2 1/2). They suggested a shorter trail which started at the same place. We decided the book had to be fairly accurate so we took the planned hike. We walked through woods and vineyards for about 90 minutes until we reached Montmirial.
Completed out hike in about 2 1/2 hours as expected - it was great and we walked about 6 miles. Left Gigondas and visited the villages of Sablet and Seguret.
That evening our hosts at the B&B invited us to a social gathering for all of the visitors. The had prepared a few tapas and had a variety of drinks including pastis and home-made fig wine. It was a great time and we enjoyed our last night in Vaison.
