Prague, Czech Republic - Day One

Up early once again (5am) to catch our 6:46 train to Prague.  A very comfortable ride and some very nice scenery along the way (followed the River Elbe about half of the trip).  Just a short walk from the train station to the hotel.  Just one slight glitch - after we got mostly unpacked we realized it was a smoking room (as was the entire floor).  The hotel was very accommodating and gave us a new room right away.

We walked down to Wenceslas Square to get some local currency and a bite to eat.  Met up with our tour guide at 2pm and spent the next four hours exploring various sights in the city.  So much history here related to the Germans and the Communists.  The town was fortunate to not be destroyed during WWII so many of the buildings are quite old.

Tomorrow morning we meet up with a new tour guide for another four hours of exposure to the city.  And then we will branch out on our own tomorrow afternoon and evening.
