Took a cab to the small town of Freilassing (just across the border in Germany) where we picked up our car. The attendant did not speak very good English and it was a bit of a challenge but we got the car without too much hassle. Got the GPS fired up and headed to our next destination - Pinswang, Austria. We got to travel a few of the main roadways but we also spent some time on some very scenic back roads through valleys and along side lakes surrounded by beautiful mountains.
We arrived at our hotel shortly after noon, got checked in, had some lunch and then headed out to find cheap gloves and a wool hat for Charlotte (unfortunately no K-Marts here so still looking). We decided to find Ehrenberg Castle which is just a short drive from here. Got in a good uphill walk and explored the ruins.
Found a local brewhouse (not too hard to find in Germany) and we enjoyed a very good meal, some good beer made right there and a fantastic view of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles (which we will visit tomorrow).
