Up at 4am to catch our 5:33am train to Salzburg. Part way into the trip we were told that we had to take a bus for part of our trip because of repair work. A little bit of an inconvenience. But we had just a few minutes to catch our connecting train in Linz, Austria - we just made it. Got into Salzburg on time and our hotel picked us up from the train station. Here is the view from our hotel.
We took the bus into town and walked around old town. Lots of tourists and even a pole vaulting competition.
And to finish the day we stopped at the Augustiner Brewhouse and had something to eat and some beer. Yes - the one liter mug is very large (and very heavy).
So in a little over a week we have now visited our sixth country (if you include landing at Heathrow). And we have at least two more to go but those will be in a week or two. We are now going to slow down a bit and spend time outside the larger towns for a couple of weeks (which we are looking forward to).
